The Cornea Clinic is held every Friday at 10:00 AM in Room No. 208. The cornea clinic provides care for a myriad number of corneal & ocular surface disorders. It is well supported by sophisticated equipment for better delineation & documentation of corneal disorders. These equipments include:
Anterior segment optical coherence tomography. Corneal Topography Systems including Orbscan Specular Microscope Ultrasonic Pachymeter Ultrasonic Biomicroscope (UBM) Penetrating keratoplasty, deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty (DALK), Descemet’s stripping automated endothelial keratoplasty (DSAEK), limbal stem cell, conjunctival and amniotic membrane transplantation and collagen cross linking are some of the procedures commonly performed. EYE BANK There is a well-equipped Eye Bank with adequate services for procurement, assessment & preservation of corneas. HCRP (Hospital Cornea Retrieval Programme) is being followed to increase eye procurement. Two Eye Donation Counsellors work tirelessly for increasing eye donation by counselling of the relatives of potential eye donors at Loknayak Jai prakash Hospital &Gobind Ballabh Pant Hospital. There is a dedicated 24 – hour telephone line for prompt and efficient retrieval of donated eyes. Doctors are available round the clock for prompt collection of donated eyes.
