The Pediatric Ophthalmology Clinic is run every Monday & Tuesday in Room No.102. Children with various ocular ailments including congenital cataract, congenital glaucoma, strabismus, lacrimal disorders, visual impairment, developmental anomalies, ocular anomalies associated with systemic illnesses, ocular trauma, ocular tumor including retinoblastoma are examined in this clinic. The clinic is well equipped with equipment for pediatric vision screening & hand held auto refracto-keratometer. It has recently acquired a hand held fundus camera. It also collaborates with the Neuro-Ophthalmology Clinic for electrophysiological assessment of children with visual impairment.
The children are given the best possible treatment. The procedures which are carried out include lens aspiration with intraocular lens implantation with/without anterior vitrectomy, subluxated lens management, trabeculotomy + trabeculectomy, squint surgeries, ptosis surgery & retinoblastoma management in collaboration with the Radiotherapy Deptt. of LNJP Hospital.
